Bitmap fills
I have a bit map, I cloned it and edited the clone. I wanted to select a small piece of the bit map, so I cropped it. When I cropped it, I got a very blurred image (crop), it appears that the DPI was changed to 96. So, I reduced the size of the crop to increase the DPI. But the copy in the fill gallery is the blurred image and copying the reduced bitmap does not seem to do anything. How do I do a fill with a bitmap of beter than 96DPI?

Re: Bitmap fills
Its too big to upload. But, take any jpg import it and scale so that the DPI are around 300DPI. Crop a small piece and copy to the bitmap gallery. That piece will show up as 96DPI and blurry:( . I don't see anyway to improve the DPI so that I have a clear piece to fill with.

Re: Bitmap fills
Grace change the dpi for auto generated bitmaps. It defaults to 96 dpi.

Re: Bitmap fills
If you right click on the image to create your bitmap copy, then you have the option in the "create bitmap options" dialog to tell it what DPI to use. I have used anywhere from 96 to 900 DPI depending on the bitmap... You can't create any more detail than the original, but you can enlarge the pic a bit and not have it appear grainy...
See attached... Origianl bitmap 2008X2000, sized to 200 pixels across, Bitmap copy at 600DPI, cropped to 200X200 exported at 300DPI Jpg...

Re: Bitmap fills
Thanks John and Bill. I had looked in options but missed it. I did try right clicking the image, but AFTER I had made it.
