Why are the Xara web page widths limited to 950 or less pixels?
Given that most screens for laptops and desktops have very high resolution these days, why should the Xara templates and web pages size be this small?
Aside from showing up badly on mobile devices (I will make another site for mobile) what are the problems with going wider than 950 or 960 pixels for websites?
Thanks

You are permitted to make a page as wide as you wish. The templates are setup to work with the most commonly used web browser widths. The commonly used browser widths have changed over the years and are being complicated by the advent of mobile browsers for smart phones and tablets.
The problem with going wider is forcing many of the site visitors to scroll left and right to see the full page. Although people are using wide screen monitors they mostly do not fill the screen with their web browser. The 950/960 page width allows for a 1024 width browser with a vertical scrollbar and no horizontal scrollbar.
