Re: Stop & Post January 2013
This is far from finished........the reflection needs work and I think the shelf should be polished. Am quite pleased with the 'glassiness' but it does need more tweaking. Have been doing it in odd moments over the holiday so thought might as well post it. Any comments more than welcome.......

Nice effect on the glass and the distortion of the gingham. Happy New Year Penny and Miguel.

So far so good Penny. I agree with you about the shelf, polish would be a nice touch.

The last one of the deities of longevity I still need to do: Namgyalma or - in Sanskrit - Ushnisha Vijaya. When this one is done I will combine Namgyalma with the White Tara and Amitayus images into one.
Actually, I can make three different images: there is always one large, central figure and two smaller figures at the bottom.

@Penny O'Rorke
The glass deformation effects (over the background) are very convincing. But it seems that all the vase is equally transparent. I think you can make it more life-like if you work a little more on that transparency. For example, usually the reflective parts of the glass (white reflections) are more solid than the rest of the body. The same for the contour (profile) of the vase. It´s a lot less transparent than the "central glass filled areas".
Here´s some sample images to make it more clear than my crappy english:

@Fred vanderZee
Impressive work Fred, even as linework. The heads are amazing.
