Imported shape recognized as line

I received from the customer a logo as EPS file. Xara defines some shapes like lines. These lines are edited as normal shape. But they can not be combined. At the output I get distorted shapes. "Convert line to shape" also does not help.

What to do? I need shapes.

Maybe the shape is not closed somewhere, that'll do it. Often hitting enter when all nodes are marquee selected will close the line and it becomes a shape.
