Bug in 5.1 Cloning with Repel Text breaks repel
Hi guys,
Don't know if this is the best place to report bugs, but thought I would post the steps here to reproduce.
Using latest 5.1.0.9131
1) Enter a few lines of text on a page
2) Draw a large circle over the left half of the text
3) Select the shape and right click, select Repel Text Under...
4) Drag the shape to cover the right hand portion of text, right clicking to clone.
5) The result is that the text is now incorrectly obscured by both shapes
6) Moving either shape forces the Repel text to once again work.
OK not exactly a major bug, its just anoying.
Re: Bug in 5.1 Cloning with Repel Text breaks repel
I just ran through your process and see no ill effect. It functions exactly as I expect. Im using version 5.1.0.8917 DL. When the circle is cloned, it rightly assumes the Repel text under attribute. So, you have two identical circles that Repel text under.

Re: Bug in 5.1 Cloning with Repel Text breaks repel
Hi cursor, thanks for checking, I can definately produce the error in the latest version and have exported the image to show the steps and result.
Interestingly I can also get Xara to display the following error "Internal program error 1375.k.no.xt" by attempting to undo some of those steps.
Regards,
James

Jimmy, I think you need to post the actual .xar file for others to evaluate/audit.
Re: Bug in 5.1 Cloning with Repel Text breaks repel
Hi, I would have done this, but by saving the .xar file and reopening it, the text repel is corrected.

In software there are two surprises.
"Easter eggs"
and
"Catch-22's".
You just found a Catch-22.
