Shadow question
Hello
Just starting to find my way around Xara Xtreme. I got it primarily for creating greetings cards inserts (borders etc). I'm really pleased with the things the program does. I've been reading the forum for a while and collecting tips and methods of how to use the program. Congratulations to everybody for producing some very impressive graphics!
I came across some similar graphics to the one below and thought I'd have a go myself. This is the result. Just wondering, is there a way to make the floor shadow show in front of the image rather than behind it?

Thanks.

Re: Shadow question
Hi Martin,
Quite a few ways to do the shadow in front:
1. Select the object hold "ctrl + shift + S" and this converts to editable shapes.
Then hold "ctrl + U" this ungroups the objects. Deselect by cliicking off the
object then select and drag the shadow. You may have to hold down "ctrl
+ F" to bring it to the front.
2. Complete your drawing without shadow and the clone the object by holding
down "ctrl + K", then bring to the front. After doing that give it a fill that you
want then select the mesh tool and reshape your object using the mold
handles. The object may look to hard so use the feather tool to blur the
edges and you even might use the Transparency tool as well.

Re: Shadow question
Here's one way:
1. Convert shadow to editable shape;
2. Ungroup object and shadow;
3. Flip shadow vertically;
4. Move shadow into desired position.

Edit: Albacore, it looks as though you and I were preparing responses at the same time. Oh well, better too much than too little, I guess.

Re: Shadow question
Thanks very much for the quick help. The shadow now faces forwards. Something else been learned. :)
