Will Xara X work with Windows XP Service pack 2?
Has Xara X been tested with the Service pack beta? Has anyone here tested that combination?
Also will the upgrade work with the service pack beta?
These are concerns, if Xara will not work, then I will not upgrade to the next service pack until I know that it does. Generally I usually wait and see before I install a service pack.
The service pack is due out in summer. Will the upgrade be out by then? Or are you waiting for the service pack final release to you can test it?
I would have written this in a private email, but I suspect that other X users would want to know the answers as well.

Why so specific? Be more general and more accurate...
These darn "microsoft changes" always mess with something you need... http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/mad.gif

Especially apt question given the info in this article:
http://www.infoworld.com/article/04/...wsxpsp2_1.html
I assume that's why Sheff is asking.

Hi Allison,
the article says that this microsoft service pack is out already in Beta... I wonder if Xara has been playing with it yet? The memory lords are at it again and look like that is the main area that might cause xara problems.
Maybe some of the gallery/net stuff might be a problem.
I think xara's web tools are more prone for problems myself from the article at least.

That's exactly why I'm asking.
I could download SP2 and test Xara with it myself, but I shouldn't have to. That's Xara's responsibility.
We have enough problems as it is without M$ adding more to the mix.
I guess it's fortunate that SP is out in beta so Xara can test it. I'd be more concerned if the upgrade was out before the service pack.
Charles has been awful quiet lately. I hope he's still reading this forum.

Yep, still here. We're aware of this XP beta and are testing it with the new and older versions of Xara X (and other Xara software). Too early to say what, if any, issues will arise. I'll get back to you and report what we find.
